Alas, poor Digipen. I must leave your tiny, but wholesome campus. It was kind of hard going through these three months with a very realistic alternate reality dangling in front of me the whole time. Would I have been happier or better off at Digipen than I am at Franklin and Marshall? Well...I'll never know nor should I even think about it. There are experiences I've had at F&M than I never could have at Digipen. For example, at F&M I directed a full-scale musical. The closest thing Digipen has to that opportunity is a small improv group (though they did perform at PAX...). Both potential experiences of full attendance at F&M or Digipen have their advantages and disadvantages. It's up to me to bridge the two with the little time I had a Digipen.
That aside, here are my final projects for my anatomy and perspective classes.
Before and after of my Blade Runner-inspired interior. I feel that I got my ass kicked in this project compared to some of the other submissions in the class. While it's certainly not a bad design, some peers had amazing photo manipulation, light balance, and just futuristic creativity. Sadly I can't show them to you since I don't have their permission to display them...
The lesson learned here: I hate photos. I don't hate photography as a whole, I just hate doing it. Perhaps because it's the art field newest to me?
On to anatomy class, which hits closer to home.
Studies of the underlying muscles in various faces. Now, our final project was to consider the three body types: endomorphic, ectomorphic, and mesomorphic. We had to do drawings of all three, and an orthographic view of one. For my three, I decided to base each one off of the Id, Ego, and Super Ego trio. The result was success and lols. Can you guess which one is which?
Okay, so the first pose was from last time. To make up for it, I drew the Id and Super Ego drawings on toned paper 15" x 22". All prior drawings for my Digipen classes were pretty much confined to 9" x 12". I'm happy to draw back up to normal size...:)
Now, since classes are over and I return home soon, I have far less content to update (That is, unless I stop slacking off with Flufy Blast). More importantly, I want to enjoy the pleasures of being home, so updates will be much slower.
However, I'll have FOUR art classes this semester, so my output will be double once August is over...
Question! When I use the scroll wheel, the hex background has the illusion of scrolling slower than the site itself... because of the number of pixels each scroll "click" moves.
ReplyDeleteUsing the browser scrollbar shows that the background is not actually moving at a different speed.
SO - Is it your design? Was that on purpose? It's a cool effect :)
Ha! I wish that was my idea! I never actually noticed until you mentioned it. That's pretty neat! I guess it was your idea then!
