Small Update in the City

Well, not in the city, but of a city. Our most recent batch of lessons in my ART300 class have focused on map paintings, specifically filling in this city (provided by the professor) with building facades:
Here is my result:
While this was only my first attempt at something like this, I definitely could use some more experience. Notable things that I should fix include adjusting some of the perspective distortion on a few buildings, cooling down the shadows, and adding something to the roofs.

Which is sad, because my sketches for the project (and the ones made while receiving evaluation on this painting) are quite spiffy, in my opinion. Which I don't have today 'cause I was too lazy to scan them in. Next time, surely.

In recent news, if you have a DS and enjoy RPGs, then you should drop whatever you're doing and sprint/drive/swim to the nearest game store to buy Radiant Historia. The best way to describe it is as a more sophisticated and soft-spoken Chrono Trigger. The scale of the time traveling is much smaller, but has a far more significant impact on the story. And the SOUNDTRACK. OH MY GOD. Just listen.
