Figuratively Speaking

So my independent study is underway. I'm kind of behind schedule, since I lack some materials to start some really in-depth studies, but I can at the very least sit in on figure drawing classes as a back-up source.

I'm not going in any particular order in terms of what area of the body to study. I still have a lot of time before I need to start focusing on areas for "finished" drawings.

Photos are kind of crappy 'cause I took them in a hurry.

While these are all charcoal, I've also been toying around with sumi ink, though I've yet to produce anything worthwhile.

 I've also realized that I enjoy my painting class above all else, even drawing at the moment. There's something so automatic, so zen like about the class so far...Maybe it's all the fumes from mineral spirits?
